Sourcing shuts doors
Ad production
outsourcing firm CCI Sourcing abruptly ceased operations last
week.
“We certainly
did not enter this market with this conclusion in mind,” said
Stibo A/S Chief Executive Officer Hans Damgaard. “Given the
speed of the North American market in adopting offshore ad
production, the rate of return on our 18-month investment leaves
us no option but to close.”
CCI Sourcing
was founded last year by Stibo, which owns CCI Europe, and The
Hindu newspaper in India. It had signed up a number of clients
in Europe, and just last month picked up its first U.S.
newspaper, the Anderson (S.C.) Independent-Mail.
Jeff Rogers,
CCI Sourcing’s former vice president of North American sales,
told Newspapers & Technology he’s working with the
Independent-Mail to find a suitable alternative, but that the
paper’s ad requirements will continue to be met while options
are being pursued.
CCI
Sourcing’s European customers, meantime, will be serviced by
Danish production firm Mindworking, Rogers said.
Newspapers &
Technology will have more information about CCI Sourcing’s
shutdown in the June issue.
