WASHINGTON— Newspapers &
Technology last month launched News&Tech Radio in a venture aimed at further
expanding readership through its multimedia platform.
The service, developed in
partnership with BlogTalkRadio, rolled out at Nexpo 2008. It enables the posting
of live online streaming interviews that encourage listeners to call in and
participate during live podcasts. The first round of interviews conducted at the
show are currently available via a link to News&Tech Radio at
www.newsandtech.com.
“It’s great to see Newspapers & Technology jump ahead with their adoption of Web
2.0 tools like audio and video to help both their readers and their clients get
more value from News&Tech,” said Mel Taylor of Mel Taylor Media. “Now you get to
enjoy the printed edition and the multimedia features.”
Taylor, who has extensive
multimedia broadcast experience and works closely with BlogTalk Radio, hosted
the interviews.
“We are very excited to launch
our own radio brand,” said Mary L. Van Meter, publisher of Newspapers &
Technology “As a leading publication at the forefront of the latest multimedia
technology for newspapers, it is fitting that we have launched News&Tech Radio
as another way for our readers to get involved, and to give yet another voice to
the vendors we support.”
