Times of India installing 1,000 CCI seats

Indian newspaper publisher Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. selected CCI Europe’s NewsGate as the sole editorial content management and publishing app for its flagship The Times of India, as well as other titles including The Economic Times, Mumbai Mirror and the IndiaTimes Internet portal.

The project launched last month with the first product going live by the end of the year, CCI said, and will involve more than 1,000 NewsGate seats with users in 20 locations including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Calcutta, logging on remotely to the central servers. “CCI NewsGate best fits our current and future requirements and will offer a very good return on our investment,” said Mohit Jain, BCCL’s director, business and commercial.

CCI said NewsGate’s Story Folder concept will allow BCCL to organize multimedia content and will offer a collaborative work environment and dynamic planning capabilities across multiple delivery channels. NewsGate is an XML repository based on the Oracle database, and will provide BCCL’s media properties with secure storage and management of content, CCI said.
