Tom Claybaugh, president of Carolinas media operations and publisher of The Greenville News (South Carolina) since April 2016, has left Greenville to take a new position within Gannett and based in Nashville. Claybaugh, a 28-year veteran of Gannett, which owns The Greenville News, begins his new role April 2 as part of a senior leadership team in Tennessee that will serve six out of the seven largest communities across the state, including Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis. David Foster, who has been vice president of sales for the Carolinas, will become regional vice president of sales and will oversee sales for seven Gannett properties in North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas and Virginia. Foster will remain based in Greenville and will be part of a two-person team running The Greenville News. Foster will handle Greenville's advertising business operations while Katrice Hardy, executive editor of The Greenville News and Southeast regional editor for the USA Today Network, will run the news operations along with Steve Bruss, South Carolina regional news director.
