Tribune Publishing has ended negotiations to sell the company to McClatchy, a source knowledgeable about the talks said, the Tribune reported.

The move came on the heels of several months of talks with Sacramento-based McClatchy. The source said possible antitrust complications in Florida thwarted the deal. McClatchy owns the Miami Herald and Tribune Publishing has the Sun Sentinel.

Bids from New York-based investment firm Donerail and Dallas-based newspaper group Aim Media are still in play, the paper reported.
